Close Quarter Combat

HERE IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT
CLOSE QUARTER COMBAT
Close Quarter Combat (CQC) is a programme in the modern day military that teaches combat techniques to take down your opponent in the quickest time possible, in the CQC programme there are other more specialized programs such as the Marine Corps Martial Arts (MCMA), Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Systema, Keysi Fighting Method (KFM).

Depending on the format of the unit and their mission spectrum they will progress from CQC to one of these programmes.

As for Ranger Defense System (RDS) it has not been introduced to the military just yet, but like all these other programmes it is a specialized programme, formatted to a Ranger's mission spectrum. The programme teaches not based on techniques but based on situations. In other words, you will be able to identify the situation as much as the techniques being used.

In the recent movie The Equalizer we can witness how combat with proper technique can ensure your own safety. Skip all the movie antics and dramatic scenes, and you would arrive with a raw breakdown of how effective the combat system is being employed.

Washington's claim that Navy Seals trained them.
The highly effective combat system being employed in the movie is known as Close Quarter Combat (CQC) a combat system employed by most of the military. Also, we were given sufficient evidence of this by having Denzel Washington himself claim that they had Navy Seals train them.

How you can apply CQC
The movie shows how CQC is employed in a combat situation, and displays effective actions through efficient use of movement, stability, composure, and mental awareness during a conditional situation.
